New York

Jessica and Travis Klaus have made L'Wren Bar a focal point in their community

Jessica and Travis Klaus opened L'Wren Bar in 2018 in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, to bring small bites and specialty cocktails to a neighborhood that needed nightlife. L'Wren features a flexible private space that can accommodate a variety of events and intimate gatherings. L'Wren was closed for indoor dining for three months during the pandemic. Outdoor dining, alcohol to go, expanding food offerings, a new website, professional photography, and their local SBDC were vital to the bar's success through the pandemic. A team of three SBDC advisors helped the Klaus' with Covid funding applications, sales strategies, and marketing. Jessica said, “We absolutely could not have survived without the SBDC.”
