The Virginia SBDC’s ICAP Program helps Impruvon Health save lives

Justin Amoyal launched Impruvon Health in May 2020 to prevent unnecessary deaths due to medication mismanagement. Justin recalls, “My brother passed away due to medical mismanagement. I wanted to solve the problem.” The Virginia SBDC’s Innovation Commercialization Assistance Program (ICAP) Mentor, David Powell was there to help. “David prepared our team for the National Science Foundation Innovation Corps (I-Corps),” Justin explains. Justin also applied for and was awarded a $50,000 Prince William County IGNITE grant that allowed him to prototype his app and hire 11 employees. “It's incredible to have a mentor like David,” Justin concludes. “He kept us focused and on the right path. I don't know if we'd be here today without his help.”
