Starting in 2019, the Brink SBDC at the University of San Diego provides an annual Angel Conference. For the nine months leading up to the conference, companies learn how to prepare their pitches and work with SBDC advisors on their business models.

The company's Founder and CEO, Glen Day, served over 20 years in the U.S. Navy and retired at the rank of Commander, as IT Operations Officer of Naval Forces Korea in Seoul, South Korea, before heading up cybersecurity leadership roles with Ernst & Young and Booz Allen. With SBDC's assistance, NVISNx has raised nearly $3 million in investment and increased sales by $300,000.
SBDC PPE Distribution
The State of California Office of Emergency Services provided a large supply of hand sanitizer and masks for the SBDC to distribute in San Diego and Imperial counties to allow for safe operations.
Thanks to the SBDC, we recovered from a fire and opened a new location. SBDC was the only organization that offered knowledgeable advice to help with permits, finances and marketing. Forward after the tragedy.

Business owner Naw Say Phaw came to San Diego in 2014 as a refugee from Malaysia, with her husband and child. Upon resettling in San Diego, she wanted to start her own business, but she had no previous experience and she was unsure about the various licenses, permits and regulations required on the local, state and federal levels. Naw Say came to the IRC-SBDC for help, and after receiving a wide variety of technical assistance, Aya Mini Market was launched.
