The main challenge faced by Gateway Learning Academy, LLC was a significant enrollment downturn in 2022. This decline in student enrollment posed a threat to the sustainability of the daycare and preschool. Established in 2005 by Frankie Briggs, Gateway Learning Academy has been a long-standing institution dedicated to nurturing Memphis's youth. However, the enrollment downturn marked a pivotal juncture, raising concerns about the business's continuity and financial stability. Frankie, a lifelong educator deeply committed to children's education, recognized the pressing need to address this challenge to ensure the academy's viability.
Our TSBDC consultant initiated tailored marketing research via SBDC.net, guided grant applications (CCDF, CARES Act, CRRSA Act, ARP Act), and advised on optimal loan options, aiding Gateway Learning Academy's sales growth, securing $267,240 in grants, and adding an employee, bolstering sustainability.
